With its abundance of retirement homes for the elderly, Miami Beach is often called, with macabre humor, “God’s waiting room”. Retirement isn’t as notorious as heart disease or cancer but it’s still a major killer.

What does my style of haircut have to do with idolatry? Are women included in the prohibition of shaving? May I tweeze out my facial hairs? Where are my head’s corners? My head is round!

In many places, the Torah forbids the consumption of blood. In the parsha of Acharei Mot, this prohibition of blood is mentioned. In Kedoshim there are nine references to blood, in the context of different prohibitions. This makes it appropriate to discuss the laws of preparing livers according to halacha.
